We first came across the Exotek FMG-3000 moisture meter on a visit to the Gnas District Heating Scheme in Austria, home to two Binder wood-fired boilers which were tasked to heating the town of Gnas via a system of underground pipes.  The site manager received regular fuel deliveries from local farmers, foresters and sawmillers, and was using the Exotek meter to determine the moisture content of the received fuel.

The ease of use and accuracy of the meter was beyond anything we’d previously seen, and securing the agency for Exotek became a ‘must do’ almost immediately!  Based on a robust 60 litre steel sample bucket, the FMG-3000 is a capacitance meter and can accurately determine the moisture content of fine and medium grade woodchips in just a few seconds.

The FMG-3000’s 0-55% moisture operating range and simple push-button controls make it ideal for larger schemes such as district heating plants, industrial users and fuel supply depots.
