The Mus-Max trough blower range is designed to receive fuel from a tipping truck into a robust steel trough, mounted as low as possible to accommodate all types of tipping vehicle. The powerful auger mounted in the base of the trough conveys the woodchip to the blower unit, which is powered by a maintenance-free geared motor, coupled to a specially designed pressure blade.
Available in a number of different configurations, the Mus-Max trough blower can deliver between 20 and 40 m3 of fuel per hour to stores with apertures up to 20m above ground and 7m away from the blower unit. This effectively negates the need on some boiler installations to construct a potentially costly below-ground fuel store.
The trough blower units have enabled Living Energy to provide cost-effective fuel storage solutions for a number of our recent school projects, including Golden Bay High, Westland High and Dunstan High School Hostel. By utilizing this innovative technology, we have been able to maximise the fuel storage volume whilst avoiding the enormous cost of modifying the existing coal bunkers to accept wood-chip recovery systems.
