The HP-21 is a reliable basic chipper for agricultural and forestry use, as well as contract chipping.  Living Energy made the decision to offer Laimet chippers because of their excellent build quality, robustness and ability to produce large volumes of quality woodfuel chips consistently.

Based around their unique conical screw blade, Laimet produce the HP-21 as an entry level machine which can be paired with a tractor or other power source to give excellent quality fuel chips.

The chipper is reliable to operate and has very few parts that wear, meaning it needs comparatively little maintenance compared to disc and drum chippers.  Laimet chippers are built around a sharpened screw blade which slices rather than chops the wood, resulting in clean, splinter-free chips.  The design also makes screw chippers considerably quiter than disc or drum machines.

The rate of production ranges up to 40 m3/h, depending on the blade used as well as the size and type of the wood. The HP-21 can chip all sorts of wood and branches of sizes up to 180 mm.

Two electrically driven versions of the LAIMET HP-21 are also available: the HP-21 LS (low speed) and the HP-21 HS (high speed).
