Engineering high-quality products for the farming and forestry industries since 1859, family firm Mus Max are based in Austria’s woodfuel heartland, where they manufacture wood chippers, chip handling systems and a range of innovative machinery for transporting and delivering bulk agricultural produce.

Mus-Max are among the market leaders in the European woodfuel chipper market and produce 13 basic types of crane-fed mobile chippers.  These range from the entry level Terminator 7Z, which is capable of taking 380mm logs and producing 50m3 of chip an hour, right up to the Terminator 11DLB, which has a 750mm throat and an output of up to 300m3 of high-quality wood chips an hour.

Mus-Max also pioneered the development of wood chip blowers to solve the problems associated with delivering fuel to above ground stores.  The range of blowers includes electric or PTO driven units, suction hoses, trough blowers and small wheeled units for fuel stores in hard to reach places.

Having been in the business of building world-class farming and forestry machinery for 150 years, we’re confident that Mus-Max know a thing or two when it comes to wood fuel.  We were pleased, but not surprised then, to find a Binder boiler heating their new head office and chipper fabrication facility when we paid them a visit!

• Terminator Chipper Range

  

  The Wood-Terminator range of drum chippers have been designed from the bottom up to produce fuel-grade wood chips as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible. Capable of output rates of 50 to 300m3 per hour of small (G30) or coarse (G50) wood chips, the 13 model Wood-Terminator range has a chipper to match any requirement. At the upper end, the Wood-Terminator 11 can take whole tress at up to 750mm diameter and turn them into up to 300m3 of chips per hour with 14 staggered knives mounted on its drum. A chipper with this kind of output is suitable for servicing power plants, large industrial customers or groups of smaller customers, or for producing tightly-controlled pulp chip for export or domestic use.

• Trough Blower

  

  The Mus-Max trough blower range is designed to receive fuel from a tipping truck into a robust steel trough, mounted as low as possible to accommodate all types of tipping vehicle. The powerful auger mounted in the base of the trough conveys the woodchip to the blower unit, which is powered by a maintenance-free geared motor, coupled to a specially designed pressure blade.

• WOODFUEL BLOWER

  

  Available in electric or PTO driven formats, the Mus-Max woodfuel blower is a versatile tool for delivering woodchip to small installations or for removing chip from a fuel store when it needs to be cleared.
